4 kids and a mama

my friend emma came to the farm last week to take engagement pictures (shes an amazing photographer) and snapped these two gems of the kids and i. we were freezzzingggg. but i love them.

thanks, emms!

cleaning out the container!

a few days ago we packed up the kiddos and went to the farm to clean out the container. the farmer that owned the land before us had it to store irrigation equipment, tools, atv's, ropes, fencing materials etc, but just like any (storage) space things need to be dejunked every now and ten years...so that is what we did! all the kids *ahem* helped and we put a dent in the project and took a whole truck load to the dump! it was really fun going through all the old farm equipment- ear tags, antique tools, cow branding things, cowboy chaps and we even found a really old telescope. it was neat.

george's fall

everynight before bed we gather in the boys bunk room and put on their pijamas, read scriptures and have family prayer. i still put diapers on all of them because if not they all wet the bed and washing that much bedding everyday is not doable! while daniel and i switch off reading the book of mormon, the boys are usually "playing quite" which includes tackle football games (whispering), jumping of the top bunk and thumbing through picture books. at one point during bedtime a few nights ago, charles jumped off the top bunk and stood up giggling and cheering for himself, so george decided he needed to jump as well... his fall was a bit less cheerful since he bit through his tongue. blood everywhere. the next day the top of his nose was black and blue (and green) so i am thinking he must have broken his nose as well. these pictures are the next day... he is getting really good selfies! look at that smile.

melt me.

anyways, bedtime with three little boys is not for the weak.

fall at the farm

daniel had to winterize the irrigation system so we spent the morning at the farm. utah's fall is magical. i never want to forget this first year having the farm, everything seems exciting and beautiful. each season we have loved. the smells, plants, creeks, irrigation ditches and the animals seem intriguing to us. i love learning about where the wind blows particularly stronger than other places, the trees where the wild turkeys hide under and the west canyon sunsets that always take my breath away.

take your time fall, stay awhile.
