well it’s about time, right? today we celebrate one month in
brazil, well one month and one day to be exact. i can’t believe that it’s been
that long and also that it’s only been that long, does that make sense? days
are going by like years and weeks are going by like seconds. yep, it’s all
true.
daniel has been working like a dog, which means he works all
the time. he leaves around 7:30 (AMMMM) and then doesn’t get home till about 10
(PMMMM). terrible. we have a little, cute house in alphaville onze, and we are
safe and healthy. henry and i don’t have a car (because d man has to drive it
to work which is about an hour and a half away) so we have really been getting
some good one on one time. he loves me and i love him. when i get depressed
(usually around wednesday) because i havent left the house in a few days, and i never see my husband, i
just listen to henry and try to really live in these little moments when it’s
just he and i in the house. we don’t have too many days left till baby brother
comes to greet us (!!!), so we’re really packing in the qt time. not knowing
the language makes things a bit more complicated as well, henry and i look at
each other when the mail man asks us a question and are just so grateful that
we at least have each other to talk to.
sheesh, and henry only knows about 20 words…but 20 words we both understand, that is key! but we seem to
entertain ourselves all day with those 20 words. i have a lot of funny “eu não fala português” (i dont
speak portugese) moments, but those are for another day. i mean i have a lot! ha! help!
last
weekend daniel’s grandparents, sister and cousin were here in brazil so we met
them in a town called paraty to spend some time together. paraty is such a cute little place,
cobblestone streets and right on the beach. what more could you ask for? it's about 3 1/2 hours away, we were so happy to see family. and we got to see and say good bye to sister vanessa, she is leaving on her mission in 2 weeks! she is going to be the best missionary brazil has ever seen. we love you, ness.
also, as we enter october, we enter the last month of pregnancy! yesss! we can't wait to hold him and kiss his little face. henry pats my tummy all the time now and says "baby!"...you got it bro, baby is comin our way.
and this weekend i have the flu, really bad, so i feel like i might die, but i know i probably won't.
how is that for an update?
miss you all like crazy and have been craving chick-fil-a. of course.
Yay!!! I'm so glad for a post! I have been thinking about you a ton the last couple days and wondering (worrying) about how you're doing. Are you coming back to the states to have your little one? And oh my goodness, I feel for you having the flu! I had it too in my last month...that should not be allowed. I hope you feel completely better soon. I love all your pictures! And, as always, I love your updates :)
ReplyDeleteI HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR THIS POST FOR FOREVER!!!! love you sweet hannah! we miss you guys and henry like crazy!
ReplyDeleteOh Hannah! Even though we don't know each other yet! (I'll see you on monday!) Reading your blog breaks my heart. It is what I went through 3 years ago coming to Brazil after 10 years away. I will tell you my story later, but it was sure hard...as I read your words I can almost feel again the loneliness and depression I went thru. I hope I can be a friend to you in your hard days, and I can tell you, those hard days go away...they really do...you just have to hang in there...cry....and try to enjoy as much as you can possibly enjoy.
ReplyDeleteI'm here!!!!you can always call me when you feel down! Welcome to crazy Brazil...I hope we make you feel welcome! ;)
