a few things that shouln't be forgotten.

a few things that shouldn't be forgotten:

  • henry learned how to suck out of a straw at sushi ya on our valentines date with dad.
  • daniel and i both got our hair cut at my relief society activity. we were the demonstrators on "how to cut your spouses hair". we will never have to pay for another hair cut.
  • henry's new favorite thing around the house...raw eggs from the fridge. he crawls into the fridge, gets an egg and drops it onto the ground. then plays in the yoke. what can i say, he is a smart boy.
  • it has been so beautiful in provo the last few days so henry and i have been taking morning runs everyday this week.
  • i somehow managed to lose both of our laptop chargers last week. don't ask...i don't know.
  • daniel leaves for vegas tomorrow for a byu lacrosse trip. 3 games, 3 days. longest we've ever been apart. i don't know if i will survive.
  • last but certainly not least...i went skiing for my very first time on presidents day! the first 15 minutes might have been the worst 15 minutes of my life, i really thought i could very possibly die. but do know, by the end of the day i had basically mastered chickidee hill.
happy wednesday!

our day of love.

this post is a few days late, but better late then never.  we loved valentines day over in the neeleman house.

this holiday has taken on a whole new meaning to me ever since i left for college, i didnt spend the whole day working in our families flower shop (worst day of the year there, or best, depends on what way you look at it) and did what normal people do for valentines day. you know, eat chocolates, give and get gifts from people you love. its such a cool day. and now that i am a wife and a mom, wow... february14th is just getting better.

i am so totally in love with my two boys so i asked them both to be my valentine. and they both said yes. i feel pretty lucky to have so much love in my life. i had this on the door when daniel got home from practice...

^^be my valentine?^^
^^pink waffles, strawberry syrup, yogurt parfaits, homemade candies.^^
^^ homemade beet bread! it was such a lovely pink.^^
the only sad part..well, henry was sicky. so we ate chocolates and cuddled most of our day. then daddy took us out for sushi (our favorite) and made us the cutest card with two cupcakes. one even had love potion dust on it.

loved our day. love my boys.

events.

here are a few things that happened that need to be recorded.
daniel had his very first lacrosse game this past friday. it snowed that day, so it made for an extra chilly evening. henry made his first appearance in his bear outfit, he was a hit with all the fans. we made it till the last quarter then we ran to the car to warm our toes up, and then ran back to meet up with dad when he finished. byu beat bosie state 14-5. go courgars!
daniel is king of the ice bath. ask anyone on his team. he takes them faithfully everyday after practice. after the game was a mini ice bath for sad mr. elbow.

mr and mrs neeleman. this is the best picture i could get of us in the library on sunday since we were totally swamped. today we spoke in church. on cheerfulness. it was awesome because i learned a lot in preparing. here is a talk that i got a lot of my thoughts from. its worth reading.
my dear sister made me this skirt. she is amazing.

9 months.

good morning!
today is a sad day. daniel started a sentence off with "remember when henry was a baby..." and then i couldn't listen to the rest of his thought... because all i could think about was the fact that henry was STILL a baby.  even though, last week, he got his very own high chair. actually, to make matters worse on the tag it said "youth chair". great. see ya later baby henry, toddler henry, adolescent henry, and go straight to youth henry! thing are getting out of hand around here. then henry had his 9 month birthday on tuesday, so now he has OFFICIALLY been out of my tummy longer then he was in my tummy. not a good day. h boy doesnt seem to mind though, he is the happiest boy in the world. he started giving me huge, wet, wonderful kisses today on my cheek. he is such a dreamy little guy, i totally melt when he gives me kisses. totally.
this is the face he makes when he is done

happy tuesday!

its about, time...

hi, we are the neeleman family. we really love each other. saturday night we got to go to the jazz game with our dear friends ted and di. they are a very cute couple. we took the train to salt lake. of course. i got to dance at ballet west the next morning and even though my cheeks are still swollen, i got through class, i love to dance. i love when i get out of class and henry and daddy are waiting outside for me. i am their world and they are mine. it is so wonderful to know that i am everything to someone. i have a need. i have a purpose. i am part of a family. we went to church today and i played with henry out in the hallway for most of church, we didn't hear many talks or sunday school lesson, but we had fun.

last night i watched this video. i loved it. suddenly made me want to live somewhere with lots of open space, fields, farm and a big tree with a tree house. (a little different then nyc, i guess). i also liked it because it made me think of my cute daniel. he does so much for our family. last reason why i liked it, well... was a reminder once again that i am indeed a daughter of a heavenly father, and that each of us are divine.

happy monday!

done and done.

last night i lost my wisdom tooth. my brother in law, justin took it out. it was infected so we did an emergency procedure at 10pm. my sister was his assistant. my mom was there watching henry, micka's kids, mila and zanna were there too. it. was. a party. laughing gas and everything. my second time ever going to the dentist, i think it went pretty well. justin is quite good at what he does.
but, it did hurt. so..instead of taking pain pills, i went to my sister in laws house this morning and she painted my nails bright pink. i feel good.

h&h days.

henry and i have been spending the majority of the last three days indoors. snow, snow, snow was the name of the game here in provo until today!  it looks like a million bucks outside, sunshine, melting snow, smiles, sweaters...etc. indoors is good for us right now though, henry has a cough and i have a sore tooth. a really sore tooth. in fact my face is swelling as we speak. well, as i type. why do we even have wisdom teeth anyways? well, doesn't matter, i am getting rid of these mean little teeth to---night. my mom said that the pain is worse then child birth. great. looking forward it.

anyways. life here at apt 304 is good. henry makes me happy. do you know what i have been especially loving about h boy? he finds everything so interesting and exciting. opening and closing cabinet doors, emptying out the sock drawer (he really loves that) looking inside the fridge, watching the vaccum rumble by,  unrolling the toilet paper roll, watching the cookies cook in the oven, and he gets really excited when we make the bed. he thinks its a game. he laughs so hard, it is amazing. so my goal today to find joy in the simple things of life. henry does it, so i am going to.  this is what we did yesterday...

^^discovered the toilet paper.^^
^^i spy henry helping mommy bake.^^
made chocolate chip cookies from my friend ashley's blog. here is the recipe.  beware. they are really good.
^^made them with henry on hip. ^^
^^worked on my lesson plan for that night. everything is choreographed in our tiny apt.^^

^^"mom, when do the cookies get done? i want to put my binki in one..."^^

and we looked outside and saw this! hi blue sky!
